Why are all capsules now silver as standard?
The high-quality embossing on the silver foil seals now makes it easy to distinguish between the different capsa varieties. The most important characteristic of the innovative capsa packaging, however, is that the capsules preserve the coffee’s flavour and aroma perfectly without the need for additional packaging, meaning that there is space for ten capsa capsules in a small, convenient box.
Does Dallmayr capsa contain anything else apart from roast coffee?
No. All varieties of Dallmayr capsa contain only the finest roast coffee from the world's best coffee growing regions. Dallmayr's coffee experts blend all capsa varieties especially for use in Nespresso®* machines. The green coffees they source from numerous countries and locations for Dallmayr capsa are carefully roasted by Dallmayr using a drum roasting process. The coffee is then ground via a special procedure especially optimised for capsa, before being measured out into individual capsules. This combination of experienced experts and state-of-the-art processes guarantees an exceptional product.
Unlike other products, Dallmayr capsa is not packed in small sachets. Each box contains ten capsules without any further packaging. So how do the capsules stay fresh?
For capsa, Dallmayr combines a special, multilayered high-tech synthetic material for the capsule's outer casing with aluminium for the lid and base. Both materials keep out light and oxygen from the air – elements that would otherwise compromise the coffee's freshness – preserving the coffee's precious flavour and aroma. It is not until they are prepared using a Nespresso®* machine that the Dallmayr capsa capsules are opened up by small blades in the machine.
How about compatibility? In which Nespresso®* machines can I use Dallmayr capsa?
Dallmayr capsa is compatible with the Nespresso®* system for private households. Dallmayr has tested the capsules in all of the machines currently on sale as well as in a large number of early models. More information on compatible Nespresso®* machines here.
Does the coffee in Dallmayr capsa come from sustainable farms?
As a family company, Dallmayr has always felt a sense of responsibility not only towards its employees, but also towards coffee farmers and their local environment. For decades, the company has been consistent in the way it purchases green coffee, and while it places a focus on certification, it doesn't end there. Almost all Dallmayr coffees from a single country of origin are certified as coming from sustainable farms. For example, the Dallmayr capsa variety Indian Sundara carries the UTZ label for sustainable farming. There are plans for further capsa varieties to become UTZ certified. More information on Dallmayr's approach to sustainability here.
Does Dallmayr produce coffee capsules for capsule machines made by other manufacturers?
Nespresso®* is not only one of the oldest systems for coffee capsules, it is also the world's most established, with millions of users. It was therefore natural for Dallmayr to offer the world's best coffees for use in Nespresso®* machines. In addition, thanks to a cooperation with Nestlé, the popular Dallmayr brands prodomo and Crema d’Oro have been available for all Nescafé Dolce Gusto®* machines for several years. These can be purchased from food retailers and online.
Does Dallmayr also sell tea capsules?
Dallmayr is not currently offering tea capsules for Nespresso®* machines. The Dallmayr tea pyramid range already provides a simple solution for preparing tea that has become incredibly popular. Dallmayr tea pyramids contain the ideal portion for your cup without having to use a machine. Each biodegradable, transparent pyramid bag is individually packed, providing the perfect protection for the tea's aroma until it is prepared.
When will Dallmayr introduce further varieties of Dallmayr capsa?
The six products currently available – four espressos and two lungos – will soon be followed by further varieties. We can already reveal that there will be two more extremely aromatic single origin coffees from Ethiopia and Colombia and a decaffeinated espresso for coffee lovers who prefer to enjoy full coffee pleasure without caffeine.
